The product presents a risk of fire as the plug's fuse does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1362. A compliant, correctly rated fuse is required to ensure the safe operation of the product under fault conditions. Should a fault occur, the plug may overheat and catch fire.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
Consumers should check whether their product is affected and request a free replacement accessory (replacement power cable or fuse) by visiting: Argos Product Check.
Follow the online steps to arrange for a replacement plug and lead to be provided. Once the replacement plug lead has been received, customers should remove the original plug lead and dispose of it safely via a WEEE recycling facility.
