An electric heating pad with attached wall plug and controller
Hazard
The product presents a high risk of fire as the plug pins are inadequately sized and have a step. Through repeated use, this could cause the damaged socket to overheat and the plug to ignite, causing a fire. Additionally, the plug was not fitted with a fuse link conforming to BS 1362. The fuse is required to ensure the safe operation of the plug under fault conditions. Improvements are required to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
