Product Description
Two fragrances sold by Savers Health and Beauty stores. Affected products have the chemical 'butylphenyl methylpropional' included on the ingredients label on the packaging of the product.
Hazard
The products present a serious chemical risk as they contain butylphenyl methylpropional (BMHCA/lilial), which is prohibited in cosmetic products. BMHCA may harm the reproductive system, may harm the health of the unborn child, and may cause skin sensitisation.
The products do not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009.
Corrective action
Affected products have been withdrawn from the market by Savers Health and Beauty.
Owners of the affected product should stop using it immediately and seek redress from the place of purchase.
