The product presents a serious risk of fire as the battery has a thermal fuse which is not fitted adequately to the motor. This means that under fault conditions, the battery management system may fail to operate as intended and may overheat and/or explode. Improvements are also required to product marking and labelling.
This product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
