Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire as the plug does not have the facility for a fuse. There is therefore no protection for the product under fault conditions. The product also presents a risk of electric shock, as the dimensions of the plug can allow access to live parts when plugging in or unplugging the plug from the socket. Improvements are also required to marking and labelling.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
